I was watching an Eigenvectors and Eigenspaces video on Kahn Academy. They write the matrix A - lamdaxIn as LamdaxIn - A. Does anyone know why this is and if there is a difference between the two? Thanks! |

They are the same because you set the determinant equal to zero, so the negative goes away. It only changes the amount of negatives you have in your calculation. |
