In class, the answer to this problem was 13x12x4choose3x4choose2. Earlier in the lecture, I remembered you saying that it does not matter if you choose all of the cards at the same time or one at a time. So my question is if you pick each suit individually, getting an answer of 13x12x4choose1x3choose1x2choose1x4choose1x3choose1, why doesn't this answer match up with the one given in class? |

(4choose1x3choose1x2choose1)x(4choose1x3choose1)=(4 choose 3)*3!*(4 choose 2)*2! Since in the end the order itself doesn't matter for the full house, you have to deorder it by deviding it by (3!*2!). Hope it helps.^.^ |
